Blunts being modernized is something that’s intrigued us lately. The classic blunt will never die, but with developments in alternatives to tobacco leaf, smokers of all kinds can enjoy their own style of a blunt-wrap. While the health craze takes over the online world, cannabis is not immune. Check out these alternatives to the classic tobacco leaf-wrap:
1. King Palm

The King Palm wraps may be the most well-known, at least in our circle of cannabis users. In case you couldn’t tell by the name, their whole thing is using palm leaves rather than tobacco leaves. The smell is much more pleasant to the non-tobacco user, and it’s a supposedly less harmful burn as well.
It comes as a pre-wrapped green cigar tube, like a cone made out of palm leaf. A wooden tool comes in the tube to allow easy filling. Consumers are able to get a few different sizes of king palm blunt, ranging from 0.3 – 1.5 grams to fill. They do take a little bit more flower to fill up than your typical blunt, and the palm leaf will burn differently than what the blunt smoker is used to… there is something to be said about how perfectly slow the tobacco leaf burns. Otherwise, it is a great alternative, and something different than your average tobacco leaf blunt. It’s a hot commodity, and we think it’s at least worth trying!
2. Mint Wrap

Minty’s makes a mint leaf wrap available at certain headshops or online. A menthol smoker may prefer it over regular tobacco leaf. It definitely has a minty kick that throws off the pallet at first. It’s not what the brain is expecting when inhaling smoke.
As we kept enjoying the blunt, we really came around to the taste. It kills any bad after tastes which was nice. It is a new sensation, but after using it we’re positive there are people out there who prefer it as their main method of smoking. The blunt rolls up real well too! Nice mini blunts made from a fresh tasting leaf.
3. Hemp Leaf

Hemp as a rolling material has actually become somewhat common. It’s the only other material (that we know of) that burns as slow as the tobacco leaf. You can get pretty similar taste to a classic blunt, too, if that’s what you’re going for.
The Hemp Zone blunts are perfect for staying tobacco-free when you’ve become accustomed to tobacco blunts. Same texture and similar taste make for a classic blunt experience. We know there are many hemp leaf options out there, let us know if you ave a different favorite!
4. Banana Leaf blunts Million Bananas

This is a first as far as we know. Banana leaves used to roll blunts. What a time to be alive, huh? We couldn’t resist and picked some up from Million Bananas. This is a rolling material that could potentially take off. They’re strong leaves, like very strong. No rips ever with these rolls. They’re thin and flexible, making it almost like a joint rolling process. We had no problem as first-time banana leaf rollers.
There’s no overwhelming flavors like some blunt wraps. It’s vegan, non-GMO and organic, which is a nice touch. Similar to King Palm, they do burn a little differently as it’s a new leafy material, but nothing outrageously different. Because of it’s strength, the Million Banana wraps work for both big and small rolls.
Do you like weed, too?
What cigars or wraps are in the picture above? I love the idea of rolling my own rather then stuffing a cone.
